BURN FAT AND BUILD MUSCLE SIMULTANEOUSLY?
From a nutritional perspective, although a caloric deficit is needed to lose fat, a caloric surplus isn’t necessarily needed to build muscle. This is because stored fat is stored energy. So, those stored fat calories are available for the body to use as fuel for the muscle-building process. When a person reaches a certain level of fitness, this ideal window of initial opportunity is drastically reduced. Basically, if you are lean, you don’t have extra fat stores to tap into and a caloric deficit is much more taxing on you and must be managed more accurately to ensure your efforts are leading you into progression.
